Saltwater is a coastal inspired boutique on Saint Simons Island featuring POLYWOOD Outdoor furniture, island style clothing, jewelry, gifts, home decor, and more.

Sissy, a Brunswick native, got her start in business shortly after graduating from Georgia Tech in 1995. Working for mega corporations IBM and Milliken taught her the necessary skills to give her the confidence to start her own company, Sissy Made It. Producing unique products for the fashion and gift industry, SMI grew exponentially until it was sold in 2010.

Bob, a south Florida native, received his degree from Florida State University and began his career in the golf industry like the rest of his family. His father was a developer for golf course communities, his older brother is a golf professional in Orlando, and his twin brother makes a living in golf retail. He received his PGA certification in 2000 and enjoyed 15 years as a golf professional at some of the finest country clubs in the country.

Sissy and Bob met in 2003 and were wed in 2005 at the Lodge on St. Simons Island. Soon after their marriage, plans were being made to develop a new business together. In 2008 a business opportunity presented itself, a wine bar in Bodega Bay on the coast of Northern California was on the market. The allure of wine country and living on the water was more than they could resist and soon were on their way to the Sonoma Coast to begin a new life together. The little wine bar, Gourmet au Bay, soon turned into a big wine bar and expanded to include a wood oven restaurant. While very successful, changing labor markets and the threat of wildfires made the decision to sell easy. After 10 great years it was time to sell and return to the east coast to be closer to family.

In 2018, they made the journey back east with a retail concept to incorporate their love for the ocean and coastal living. When the little historic Moss House cottage on Frederica became available for lease, they knew it was perfect for Saltwater.
